OUR MISSION

P.S. 21’s mission is to challenge students to achieve their personal best and empower them to become productive, independent members of society. Our collaborative learning teams provide standards-based curriculum utilizing real life experiences embedded in data-driven instruction. We, the P.S. 21 community, facilitate high levels of parent and community partnerships to maximize each student’s potential. To utilize the WECCARE model effectively, The Margaret P. Emery Elm Park School will emphasize social-emotional development, as well as focus on cultural relevance, inclusivity and student empowerment.

Our Vision

OUR Vision

P.S. 21 is committed to building an empowered community of critical thinkers where the school and the community collaborate to create opportunities for students to develop a deep sense of identity and self-worth in order to apply their learning to the broader world around them because We Empower Community, Collaboration, Accountability, Rigor, and Equity (WECCARE).  Each child develops individual goals to help them build the best version of themselves both inside and outside of the classroom.   This will prepare students to have a voice and to be innovative leaders in a complex and diverse society, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning.  We envision an environment of resilient self-directed learners who engage in meaningful interactions with staff, peers, and the community striving to attain high levels of academic success while solving rigorous open-ended, authentic problems.
